CME-50DD: Simple, Rugged, and Reliable

There are no chains which can stretch or break. And since the drill rod is on the same centerline as the rack and pinions, there is less stress on drill rods, the carriage and other components. The floating carriage helps prevent thread damage when making and breaking joints.

Bronze rod bearing support and wiper assembly.

This assembly puts less wear on rods and is simple to change for different rod sizes. The wiper can be easily installed before or after the drill string is started.

Dual range thrust and rotation gives you versatility to tackle changing formations.

This high torque / low speed, high speed / low torque system is easily changed from one mode to the other with the turn of a selector valve. You can even change speeds without stopping rotation. Carriage travel speed and force can also be changed from low range to high range as conditions dictate.

Dedicated hydraulics to thrust and rotation motors for optimum performance. One pressure / flow compensated load sensing pump for each function means maximum power is available for both thrust and rotation. You also get more efficient use of horsepower, better fuel economy and less hydraulic system heat with load sensing pumps.

Pivoting operator’s station with dependable manually activated hydraulic controls.

The pivoting operator’s station allows for an improved view of all drilling operations. Drilling and set-up controls are logically arranged on the control panel for quick identification and easy operation.

All hydraulic controls are manually activated or have manual backup. The simplicity of these systems provide increased reliability, easier maintenance and less downtime.

Rugged, open top, 6 inch opposing cylinder vises.

Jaws will accept different size and type rods (up to 3 1/2 inch diameter). Left and right jaws are easily interchangeable, providing extended life for each set. Bolt in, hardened steel replacement teeth are also easily changed.

For maximum strength, the rotating vise features a unique, patent pending, roller bearing system that prevents the vise frame from expanding and maintains precise alignment during clamping operations.

Radio remote controlled tramming provides safety and convenience.

Steering and engine throttle are controlled by wireless radio. That means your operator can stand a safe distance from the machine while loading and unloading or moving around the jobsite. It also offers an unobstructed view during tramming operations.

On-board crane for handling drill rods.

This powerful crane features a double extension boom for plenty of reach and has a cable pendant control with manual override. A pressure sensitive lock-out system prevents over loading based on boom position.

Rugged tracked carrier.

The walking beam suspension features heavy duty, maintenance free sealed idler wheels and allows the tracks to crawl over rocks and other obstacles. And since the tracks are rubber, they won't damage pavement. Adjustment is provided by an automatic track tensioning system. Individual hydraulic planetary drives provide maximum power and maneuverability.

Augering pull down staking system provides positive stability.

The two staking augers are perpendicular to the drill string for exceptional holding power. Independent controls allow you to use the best combination of feed and rotation for any terrain. Different auger heads are also available for varying ground conditions and more augers can be added to increase staking depth.

Secondary anchoring for maximum thrust applications.

An 80 pound hydraulic hammer and drive-in style anchors are also provided. They can be used for additional holding power when maximum thrust is required for steering in extremely difficult formations.

Drilling angles from 0 to 22^o.

Tilt and slide controls allow you to easily set up for the precise drilling angle you need. A wide rear support provides increased stability and holding power.
